Fairground Foundation supports cycling in New Zealand

Our non-profit arm, Fairground teamed up with the Hikurangi Foundation in 2012 to support the first-ever Tour of New Zealand bicycle race.  The Tour of NZ is an 8-day nationwide cycling event designed to celebrate cycling, scenery and community while raising funds to help the Hikurangi Foundation’s cycling efforts that include the  National Cycleway and promotion of a low-carbon and resilient tourism industry in New Zealand.

Brian Nelson, Fairground’s business manager, donated some pedal power to this great cause by riding his bike for 97 kms to support the team from the Hikurangi Foundation. Hikurangi has organised two teams to tackle the North and South Islands during the 8-day ride and Brian signed up to ride the (very hilly!), 97km stage run from Tuakau to Raglan.
